Non-Surgical Buttock Lift vs BBL Surgery

non-surgical buttock vs bbl

Each year, more and more women are aware of the benefits of cosmetic surgery procedures to enhance the size and shape of the buttocks. Although the Brazilian butt lift procedure, or BBL, as it is popularly known, remains the most effective treatment to permanently enhance the volume of the buttocks, non-surgical buttock lift options using Sculptra are rising in popularity. Many patients who have Sculptra butt enhancement are often very slim and may also wish to consider having a skinny BBL procedure.

What is a non-surgical buttock lift?

A non-surgical buttock lift is a quick and safe alternative to BBL surgery without the risks or complications of more invasive surgery. A non-surgical butt lift most commonly involves the injection of a collagen stimulator known as Sculptra to add fullness to the buttocks with an improvement in buttock firmness and smooth-looking skin. The procedure is designed to restore a youthful appearance and a shapelier buttock.

What are the benefits of a non-surgical buttock lift?

The non-surgical buttock lift is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to carry out with no lengthy recovery period. Patients can, therefore, recommence everyday activities straightaway after having treatment. The surgical procedures designed to enhance buttock volume and get rid of saggy buttocks include the Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and a surgical buttock lift. Both of these procedures require at least one week of absence from work and can take between 6 to 8 weeks to fully recover after surgery.

Unlike a Brazilian butt lift, the non-surgical buttock lift produces temporary results, with a typical duration of 12 to 18 months before requiring top-up injections. Initial treatment typically requires 5 to 6 sessions to achieve the desired results. The Brazilian butt lift is a one-time procedure with no need for further procedures to maintain the results. BBL results are considered permanent if patients maintain a stable weight with no significant fluctuations.

If you are unsure about having a Brazilian butt lift, in that case, a non-surgical bum lift is an excellent way to see if you like the results of treatment with Sculptra before opting for 360 liposuction with fat transfer to the buttocks.

What are the two main options for a non-surgical buttock lift

Centre for Surgery specialises in two types of non-surgical buttock lift treatments using FDA-approved injectable products:

Sculptra

Sculptra is known as a collagen stimulator due to its ability to kickstart collagen production in the buttocks’ soft tissues. Sculptra is most commonly used to restore lost volume in the face but is increasingly used to enhance volume and contour in other body areas, particularly the buttocks, also known as a ‘Sculptra BBL’. The buttocks can appear more sculpted with enhanced volume due to the stimulation of collagen production. Patients can expect to see results from the Sculptra BBL after approximately six weeks. The Sculptra Butt lift produces results that can last up to 24 months. As long as you have maintenance treatments every 18 to 24 months, it is possible to get nonsurgical buttock lift results lasting between five and 10 years.

Dermal fillers

Soft tissue fillers can be used as an alternative treatment for a non-surgical butt lift. Dermal fillers have an excellent safety record, as they are composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the human body. Butt fillers are perfect for filling in localised depressions to give a more contoured result. Compared to Sculptra, undergoing a butt lift with fillers yields results that are immediately noticeable. The final results will be available approximately one to two weeks after submission. At Centre for Surgery, we only use hyaluronic acid-based fillers that can last between six months and 24 months. Unlike treatment with Sculptra, dermal fillers can be dissolved with hyalase if you are unsatisfied with the treatment results. Some patients may choose to have extra filler injected to fine-tune the results of their non-surgical buttock lift.

Non-surgical buttock lift using Sculptra vs Brazilian Butt Lift

Surgery is the best way to achieve permanent results. It is most commonly chosen by patients who would like to achieve a significant increase in the size of the buttocks, combined with a slimmer torso, using liposuction. Patients who have saggy buttocks can be effectively treated with a surgical buttock lift procedure. Many patients often have a non-surgical buttock lift to give them an idea of how they could look with Brazilian butt lift surgery. Our surgeons are skilled in the two main types of buttock lift surgery at Centre for Surgery in London.

Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)

A BBL is designed to increase the size of the buttocks, which often gives them a more lifted appearance with a greater projection, especially when combined with lipo 360. The procedure involves removing fat from unwanted areas of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs. The harvested fat is then purified to remove impurities before being injected into the buttocks for significant volume enhancement. The Brazilian butt lift is a permanent procedure. It is a natural type of buttock enhancement and does not involve the use of artificial silicone gluteal implants. The risk of infection after BBL surgery is much lower compared with implant-based buttock augmentation. BBL scars are also much less compared with a surgical buttock lift. Using the body’s own fat allows surgeons to create natural-looking results after BBL surgery.

Surgical Buttock Lift

Buttock lift surgery is designed to remove excess skin that contributes to sagging buttocks.  Patients who have lost significant weight and are left with loose, redundant skin folds are particularly suitable candidates for a surgical buttock lift. The procedure is designed to give the buttocks a more lifted appearance with better contours and a shapely appearance. Excess skin is removed from the area between the upper buttocks and the lower back, and the skin is then carefully stitched back together to minimise scarring. There are different types of buttock lifts depending on the pattern of loose skin, and they are customised to the individual patient. Centre for Surgery is a centre of excellence for buttock lift surgery. Our surgeons have years of experience in performing both BBL and surgical buttock lifts, consistently delivering the best results.

At Centre for Surgery, we do not use buttock implants or any other type of artificial filler as we consider these to present an increased risk of potential complications in patients. When performed by a specialist BBL surgeon, the Brazilian butt lift in London is a safe procedure.
