What is Mole Removal?

Mole removal at Centre for Surgery is led by GMC-registered plastic surgeons working from our CQC-regulated Baker Street clinic. We offer surgical excision, shave excision, punch excision and laser mole removal — choosing the technique based on the type of mole, its location, and whether histopathology is needed. Any mole with features of clinical concern is removed by excisional biopsy and sent for histopathology to confirm the diagnosis. For benign moles in cosmetic-sensitive areas, plastic surgeon technique minimises scarring. Laser mole removal is reserved for selected small superficial benign moles where the diagnosis is clinically certain. Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic as a day case.
